In order to provide a proficiency analytical testing program for laboratories using direct microscopic analysis techniques for spore identification, AIHA is introducing a new component to the EMPAT Program for Fungal Direct Examination.  On a quarterly basis, laboratories will have access to 20 different digital images for the identification of spores.  At the conclusion of each testing round, each laboratory will be provided with an evaluation of its results.

Applied Environmental, Inc. Health Research Services Division is a private company working on behalf of AIHA to manage the data collection and analysis of the sample results for the EMPAT Fungal Direct Program.
